Mary has come to be a symbol of grace and compassion to me. I have over the years made many images of her various incarnations in sculpture. This is one of my favorites. I took the image many years ago while in Paris - specifically Pere Le Chaise Cemetery. I wasn't until recently however that I found the perfect medium in which to present her. The process is called Bromoil, a process made popular in the early 20th century by pictorialists. the process brought a texture and a depth to her that straight silver printing could not have produce. It truly emulated the experience I had the moment I saw her.
